My flight to Barbados may have had a passenger who tested positive for COVID 19

THIS IS A PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT:  All or most of the plans I had for 2020 have either been cancelled or postponed until further notice!!!

I was suddenly very afraid that I may have been exposed to the virus. I’d just returned to NY from Barbados when I heard that 2 passengers on the flight that I took to Barbados a few days before, tested positive for COVID19. Was taking this trip to Barbados worth the possibility of exposure??!! YES!!! Despite how worried I became when my throat felt weird or my nose suddenly felt stuffy, I was still happy that I took the trip.

As a “Born-Bajan” living in New York, I try to visit Barbados a few times a year and when I do, I am in full tourist mode. Though I grew up on this island, I never experienced it the way I do now. In Barbados, there is a ton of things to do, no matter where you stay. However, the most popular parts of the island are the West and South coast, but I’d choose one or the other based on what my interests are at the time. If I want lots of activities and great night life, I suggest staying on the South Coast, preferably, closer to St. Lawrence Gap. You not only have great night life, but various types of food. Both local and traditional dishes can be found within walking distance. However, if you aren’t staying within walking distance, taxi service is usually very affordable, or if you’re feeling adventurous, you may take a bus, which will cost $1 US per ride.

I would advise anyone who stays on the South side of the island, to visit the beaches on the West. Though most of the beaches in Barbados are beautiful, on the West, which is the Caribbean Sea, the water is much calmer, and makes for great swimming experience. Some of the best dining is also found on the West Side, so if you are interested in fine dining, restaurants such as “The Cliff”, “Drift Ocean”, and “Round House” would be perfect for you.

All in all, no matter where you stay on the island, getting from one point to another, should be easy, as the island is only 166.4 square miles. Also, if you don’t mind driving on the left side of the street, maybe renting a car would be ideal. This way you can explore the island, at your leisure.

St. James

Its hard to believe that just 3 weeks ago I was enjoying this beautiful place. Now I am wearing a mask, and gloves when I go out for my afternoon walk or for groceries. When I return, I use Lysol and wipe down the doorknobs, light switches, keys, phone, and my bag. Then I immediately put my coat in the sun and my cloths in the laundry basket. Today after my walk, my nose was a bit stuffy because of the cold air from outside, and once again, I started to feel like I was exposed, so I washed my face with water as warm as I could get it and inhaled some into my nostrils, then I made some tea. I haven’t blown my nose since, but I can’t shake the paranoia.

Is it just me or have you been suddenly feeling like every cough or sneeze means you have the virus??? Let me know in the comments below.

Until next time, stay safe and sheltered!

Florals and bright colors rule the Fall

As I mentioned in a previous post, florals and bright colors are everywhere for fall. I went into Zara and got a little carried away. I love flowers and couldn’t help myself. I felt like a kid in a candy store. I wanted them all!!! I fell in love with the fit of this floral pants, and double breasted dress. They both cinch nicely at the waist and would be very flattering on most figures. Once again, we see the return of the leg-o-mutton sleeve seen here on the yellow button-down sweater, which is also on the dress in my previous post. I have seen exaggerated sleeves on a few tops and dresses that I can’t wait to get my hands on. Fall is sure to be fun, despite the decreasing temperatures!

Fall is the new Spring!

Though she’s not my favorite girl, by the looks of things, seems like Fall is trying to take over the Spring looks and dear I say, she can even put some pressure on Summer. I am in no means rushing fall because I know right behind her comes the terror called Winter. However, Zara’s have dropped some dope pieces featuring exaggerated sleeves, blooms of flowers and a mixture of other vibrant colors and patterns. Lets just say that this girl can’t get enough of’em. In this post I am paying homage to this black floral-print dress which reminds me of the 60’s and 70’s era, with the shorter hem, but these leg-o-mutton sleeves are er’ythang and dates back to the victorian era. I will be sharing a few other pieces with similar esthetics. I am so excited about these looks! They give me something to look forward to and also helps distract me from the colder weather to come.

I’ve left links to the dress below: Get yours before they are all gone and look out for my next looks coming soon…also from Zara’s.

Part II: Swimsuits worn in Barbados

I love how this cobalt blue looks on darker skin tones. I have had this one for over a year and was excited to finally break it in. It was purchased from Matte Collection. They have very affordable swimmies (about $12 per set) and you can almost always find a sale. They no longer have this one on their website, but there are quite a few delectable ones that I’d like to get my hands on. Will definitely share, if I do. I also rocked this vizor from Free People almost every time I went to the beach. I bought it early in the summer so it is no longer available, but you can find them er’ywhere. I left a link below for similar ones on Amazon as well as links to other bikinis by Matte Collection in this color.

Photos were taken at Coppacabana Beach Bar & Grill.

Part I: Swimsuits worn in Barbados

I wasn’t sure if I should have made this a travel or fashion blog. I wanted to feature some of the places I went in Barbados but unfortunately, it was mostly partying so instead. I have created a short video from my insta-stores to share with you very soon. In the mean time, this is one of the many swimsuits I took with me on the trip. I will be posting a few more shortly. Enjoy and thanks for stopping by! Swim featured is from Zaras . See links below for similar ones as this one may no longer be available online.

Photos were taken in Christ Church.

Long Sexy Skirts are all the WAY IN!!!

I’ve been holding on to this beauty for about a year now…waiting for the right place to wear it. But I realized I should never wait for an occasion, I should wear whatever I want, where ever I want to. Tomorrow is not promised guys. Do not hold onto those things that you love, saving them for the perfect occasion, because that time may never come. Rock what ever you like, where ever you like, when ever you like!!!

PS: The top is from LF Stores but it is already sold out. I saw some kool ones that I would love to use to create one similar on Pretty Little Things. If I do a recreation, I’ll make sure to post some pics.

Btw, left links to similar skirts that I wanna rock below: Lets Rock’em together!! XOXOXO
